Genome Diversity and Population Genomics Node

Who are we?

The Genomic Diversity and Population Genomics node of the Spanish Institute of Bioinformatics (INB) is located at the Evolutionary Biology Unit of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), based in the PRBB (Barcelona Biomedical Research Park).

The main commitments of this are carrying out tasks of research and support to the scientific community in the field of genome diversity. The Node focuses in the development and implementation of new methods and algorithms for the analysis and interpretation of diversity data of all kinds (from Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms to large chromosomal rearrangements) obtained using the most diverse experimental approaches, usually high-throuput techniques.

The node collaborates regularly with the users of the National Center for Genotyping (CeGen) and, within this framework, a set of SNP management and data analysis applications have been developed, such as www.snpator.org and www.sysnps.org.
